A Note to
Parents
The
purpose of the Boy
Scouts
of America is to provide boys and young adults with an
effective
educational program. It's designed to build desirable character traits,
train responsible citizens, and develop personal fitness. Through
chartered organizations, Scouting provides a year-round program that
has helped strengthen young men and their familes since 1910.
In
Scouting,
boys, families, leaders, and chartered organizations work together
toward the following objectives:

- Influence a boy's character development and
spirtual
growth.
- Develop habits and attitudes of good
citizenship.
- Improve understanding within the family.
- Strengthen a boy's ability to get along with
others.
- Foster personal achievement through new
interests and
skills.
- Offer fun and exciting new things to do.
- Show a boy how to be helpful and do his best.
- Prepare him for leadership roles in life.
